Managing Partner Cheryl Marsh began her career as a K-12 teacher, a K-12 school administrator, and a hospital administrator resulting in an understanding of organizations and management. She is now particularly well-known for her decades of work in family law, estate planning and probate matters, leases, real estate, and numerous other civil areas of law.
Partner Amanda Tobey is a native to Nebraska, and was raised in Custer County. She attended school at Anselmo-Merna Public Schools. Upon graduating from law school, Ms. Tobey moved to California and subsequently relocated to Colorado to begin her legal career. Prior to moving back to Nebraska, Ms. Tobey practiced law in Colorado for approximately 8 years. Her practice areas in Colorado consisted of civil and commercial litigation matters, including business disputes, contract disputes, construction defect litigation, insurance defense and subrogation matters, and personal injury litigation. Ms. Tobey has experience in all aspects of litigation including motions practice, discovery, settlement negotiations, hearings, trials, etcetera. Ms. Tobey also has experience practicing in both state and federal courts.
The integrity of the firm and its founder, Steven Stumpff, are well-known in the Broken Bow community and beyond. Marsh & Tobey is a long-time member of the Broken Bow Chamber of Commerce and the Custer County Historical Society. As supporters of area schools and community organizations, we are active in and dedicated to our community. Our attorneys also volunteer their time and skills to address community issues, including domestic violence prevention, and to advocate for children involved with the courts.
