Ms. Tobey was sworn in to practice law in the State of Nebraska by the Honorable Karin L. Noakes, District Court Judge for the Eighth Judicial District on November 18, 2016. Ms. Tobey concentrates her practice in civil and commercial litigation, family law, personal injury, probate and estate planning.
Ms. Tobey is a native to Nebraska, and was raised in Custer County by parents Ron and Kim Tobey of Merna. She attended school at Anselmo-Merna Public Schools. Upon graduating from law school, Ms. Tobey moved to California and subsequently relocated to Colorado to begin her legal career. Prior to moving back to Nebraska, Ms. Tobey practiced law in Colorado for approximately 8 years. Her practice areas in Colorado consisted of civil and commercial litigation matters, including business disputes, contract disputes, construction defect litigation, insurance defense and subrogation matters, and personal injury litigation. Ms. Tobey has experience in all aspects of litigation including motions practice, discovery, settlement negotiations, hearings, trials, etcetera. Ms. Tobey also has experience practicing in both state and federal courts.
Ms. Tobey received her Juris Doctor from Creighton University School of Law in 2003 and her Bachelors of Science degree from the University of Nebraska in 1999. Ms. Tobey intends to keep her Colorado license to practice law active and will therefore be dually-licensed in both Nebraska and Colorado.
